Spl & What it really means
This chart below shows that comparing a 1600watt Subwoofer with 86DB vs a 200watt Subwoofer with 96DB will be just as loud without extra Power.
1600w @ 86DB = 200w @ 96DB
A speaker is rated in Db at (1watt-1Meter) Lower Db ratings Require more power to Push the woofer! Just because a speaker can Handle more Power Doesn’t mean it is better than a speaker with a good DB Rating… In Many cases some of the name brands you know only lower the DB in order for their speakers to handle more watts…. Then brag about the amount of power they can handle… ( Its more like they need!!)
