With this cable installed you connect any docking iPod [ 3G, 4G, 5G, Mini, Nano, Photo & Video (not compatible with 1st & 2nd Generation (10GB/15GB) or iPod Shuffle] for a clean audio connection and the ability to "tune" your iPod tunes with Bass Engine™ features. Best of all, this inexpensive adapter will even charge your iPod while it's plugged in and the ignition is "ON". Once everything is installed, you'll be able to access the iPod by pressing "CD" or "Mode" button on the Alpine radio. With the freedom to control everything via the iPod itself, gives access to all playlists and menus using the iPod buttons because the ALP/Ai-POD adapter (unlike others) does NOT disable the iPod screen or click/scroll wheel.
